Obituary for Toni Taylor Voithofer

Print
On August 3rd, 2019, our beautiful Toni Taylor, age 25, was called home after a long brave battle with addiction. Toni fought a battle that millions of people face in this country on a daily basis. She fought hard and wanted so much more for her life, but ultimately couldn’t beat her demons. Toni is survived by her beautiful daughter Lily Grace Hickman, her mother Dawn Fischetti, step father Anthony Mascaro, father William Voithofer Jr., big brother Nick Voithofer, maternal grandmother Judy Flack, paternal grandmother Caroline Voithofer. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Toni is preceded in death by her big brother Michael Raupach Jr. who lost his battle to cancer in November 2018, maternal great grandparents Hugo and Lydia Pofi, and paternal grandfather William Voithofer Sr. Toni was a 2012 graduate of Plum Senior High School and leaves behind many childhood friends whom she considered her sisters.

Toni never wanted to be defined by her addiction and mistakes. As she would say, “Don’t judge me by the chapter you walked in on.” Toni was a beautiful, fearless girl with a heart of gold. She was feisty and outspoken but would do anything for anyone. Her charisma was contagious, she could walk into a room and by the end of the night be friends with every person there. Toni loved singing, dancing and modeling. But nothing came close to the love she had for her daughter, Lily Grace. There was nothing she loved more in the world than her little girl, who shares her big beautiful smile and feisty personality. That was Toni… That is how we want you to remember Toni. Toni would want her story to be heard and others to learn from her mistakes. She was very open about her struggles and wouldn’t want to change that now that she is gone. She could have changed the world with her story, her spirit, and her love. We find comfort in knowing that Toni finally has her wings and is free from the grasp of addiction. Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 7th at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd., 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road) Penn Hills 15235 from 3pm until Funeral at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for Toni's daughter, Lily Grace Hickman. Those wishing to contribute can make checks payable to Dawn Fischetti or Lily Grace Hickman and sent to Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd.
