87, of Plum Borough, died on Thursday, April 30, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 26, 1932 in McKeesport Pa to the late Ashy and Ralphina Vitullo. A 1950 graduate of McKeesport High School, and married to the late Robert M. “Weeze” Patterson on June 19, 1954 at St Pius Catholic Church. Surviving are her children David Patterson(Tracy), Diana McDade, Susan(Jay)Adams, Cynthia Patterson, Barbara Johe(Michael) and the late George Patterson, Grandmother “Nenaw/Gram” of Jason(Megan)Giovannini, Jessica(Matthew)Meyers, Jennifer(Joseph)Seward, Julie Adams, David Patterson, Daniel McDade, James Johe, Chelsey Patterson, Nicolas Patterson, Maria McDade, and Cassandra Patterson, Great-Grandmother “G.G.” Of Angelo Giovannini, Michael Giovannini, Myles Seward, Darcy Giovannini, Jack Seward and Benjamin Seward, Sister to the late Jane(Bill)Messina and Anthony(Marge)Vitullo, Aunt of many nieces and nephews and also she had endless cousins. Carmella was a devoted wife and dedicated mother and grandmother. Her passions included baking, cooking, anything creative and was an avid Pittsburgh Sports Fan. She loved playing cards with her many good friends but most of all loved being with her family and her two cats Baby and Sylvester. A special thanks to UPMC Family Hospice Staff Members. Due to the Covid-19 Crisis funeral services are private. A Memorial Celebrating Carmella’s glorious life will be held in the near future. Arrangements entrusted to Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd. To best honor Carmella, donations may be made to The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting K-9 units of police and fire departments throughout the United States with a particular emphasis on support for service dogs in Pittsburgh, PA.
